Evidence export
An evidence package is a point-in-time snapshot of your asset inventory, packaged for an audit or compliance review. Unlike a live report, it captures your inventory exactly as it looked at a chosen moment, so the numbers stay fixed after the fact — the kind of artifact an auditor asks you to keep.
What it's for
- Freeze a moment in time — package the inventory as it looked on a specific date, or the latest.
- Scope it to what matters — limit the package to one kind of asset or one business unit.
- Hand it to an auditor — download it as CSV, JSON, or a light PDF, with a record of when it was created.
Where to find it
Evidence export lives in Cyber Asset Management. Open its Reports hub and generate an Evidence Package from the Templates tab (or the Evidence Package button in the toolbar).
Evidence export is available when your workspace has it enabled and your role permits it. If you don't see it, ask an administrator.
Every control explained
The Generate evidence package dialog collects a few options:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Format | The package format — CSV, JSON, or PDF (light). |
| As of | The date and time to snapshot the inventory at. Leave it blank for the latest inventory. |
| Entity kind | Limits the package to one kind of asset (for example, hosts). Leave blank to include all. |
| Business unit | Limits the package to one business unit. Leave blank to include all. |
| Generate export | Builds the package and adds it to the recent-exports list. |
Recent evidence exports
Beneath the form, Recent evidence exports lists the packages generated for your workspace, in a compact list rather than a full table, so you can find and re-download a recent one.
Each entry shows:
| Field | What it shows |

| Export ID | A truncated identifier for the package. |
| Format | The format the package was generated in. |
| Status | Whether the package is ready, still generating, or has expired. |
| Generated | A relative timestamp for when the package was created (for example, 2 hours ago). |
| Open | Opens the package in a new tab. A package past its expiry shows expired in place of the link — generate a fresh one. |
Each package's download link is time-limited. Once it expires, the entry shows expired; generate a new package to get a fresh link.
Common workflows
Workflow: package this quarter's inventory for an audit

Open Reports in Cyber Asset Management and start an Evidence Package.
Step 1 — the Generate evidence package dialog -
Choose a Format, and set As of to the end of the quarter you're documenting. Leave the scope filters blank to include the whole inventory.
Step 2 — choosing the format and as-of date -
Click Generate export. The new package appears in Recent evidence exports with an Open link.
Step 3 — the finished package in Recent evidence exports
Workflow: scope a package to one business unit
- Open the Generate evidence package dialog.
- Enter the business unit in the Business unit field.
- Click Generate export and open the package from Recent evidence exports.
